Our 5W GU10 LED illuminant is always used where ordinary halogen lamps were previously used. This is the case with very modern crystal chandeliers. Sometimes the lead crystal is illuminated from above, for example, in which case a GU10 LED illuminant is used instead of an LED bulb.

Are LEDs worthwhile? A conventional GU10 halogen lamp with a comparable light output requires 50 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity for 1,000 hours of operation. At an energy price of 25 centimes per kWh, this amounts to CHF 12.50. An LED GU10, on the other hand, requires only a tenth of the energy for the same number of operating hours (1,000), i.e. 5 kWh or CHF 1.25.
Over the service life of an LED GU10 (more than 25,000 hours), this results in an enormous savings potential of almost CHF 300.00 per illuminant (assuming an average energy price of 25 centimes per kWh).
