Our Roman Grapes model is a wonderful set of lead crystal glasses (24% PbO). This is available to buy as a single set or, if desired, in a luxurious case. The latter is particularly nice if you want to give the glasses as a gift or store them in style. For example, if you only use lead crystal glasses for very special occasions. The glasses then disappear back into the case until the next time they are needed. Pretty practical.
The Roman Grapes set consists of a total of six lead crystal glasses in six different colours. The glasses were all produced and refined using the overlay technique, an elaborate technique for colouring lead crystal that is hardly used today because it is not profitable for industrial goods. However, the latter does not apply to this set anyway, as the lead crystal glasses are 100 per cent handmade by the renowned Bohemian lead crystal manufacturer CAESAR CRYSTAL BOHEMIAE.
We find the subtle yet ever-present grape pattern on the glasses particularly successful. A grapevine stretches across the glass, which seems to match the contents, but the decoration is never obtrusive and never becomes too prominent. Rather, it remains simple and therefore particularly beautiful, because together with the colouring it creates a wonderful interplay of colours. Very high-quality lead crystal glasses as a set, at a fair price.
