Using the overlay technique, the transparent glass of this high-quality lead crystal vase is coated with coloured, liquid glass during production and then shaped. This artisanal process is at the cutting edge of today's manufacturing possibilities. Only the best and most skilful glassmakers are able to achieve this. The mere fact that there is still no machine that can carry out this manufacturing process is clear proof of the high degree of dependence on craftsmanship. Each product requires many hours of experienced and skilful manual work by a glassmaker. The colourful, unique glass structures are created by partially grinding away the coloured outer surface after cooling. In addition, incident light is refracted on the glass in such a way that rainbow-like colours are created and the glass glitters beautifully.
